What is yoga?
Yoga is a practice that maintains the mind, body and spirit within its 8 limb system with its scientific philosophy coming from Vedic texts written in Sanskrit in ancient India/Hindustan.

Yoga translates into English as ‘unity’ meaning that all the practices of yoga are to bring all aspects of our being together.

As already stated the 8 limb requirements aren’t always observed in all western class schedules. What is mainly seen are physical asanas(movements), pranayama (breathing) & meditation, sometimes using mudras & bandas and even chanting mantras which for the corporate sector is a excellent starting platform.
YOGA and MEDITATION classes for mindfulness
I am a qualified yoga instructor of Prana Kriya Yoga offering one to one sessions of this unique style of yoga. The basis of this practice is coming from a lineage of Kriya Yoga which is from the ancient texts and ascended masters believe to be one of the most original and self- empowering techniques to learn. All the fundamental principles of this practice in every aspect will improve all the systems of the body, as it effects the neuro-muscular system primarily & encompasses the 8 limbs of yoga approach of mindfulness & other yogic teachings. The main difference between this and ordinary Kriya yoga is that Pranayama breathing techniques have been added to the asana practice which makes it the only one of it’s kind, developed and taught by Yogi Ashokananda since the beginning of the millennium. Practicing PKY regularly will increase pranic flow (life force) in the body which regenerates the cells, nervous system and every organ in the body eliminating toxic waste and prevents and slows down the aging process. It is highly beneficial for every age group and ability as progress will naturally occur as you deepen your practice. This style of yoga is a strong cardio vascular exercise as well as deeply elevating the consciousness with mudras, meditation and mantras.

I find that positive and quick results are seen with PKY as it can heal all the doshas or layers of the yogic body dependant on how much you wish to see radical changes in yourself. It is a life changing experience and self -empowering practice, not just a yoga that extends or stretches your body & mind.

YOGA and BELLYDANCE fusion classes
This fundamental approach of Kriya YOGA is that it regenerates all layers of the body and the practice consists of 5 Kriyas that will regularly cleanse body, mind, energy, consciousness and spirit. This is essential for spiritual growth and letting go of attachment, as well as being an excellent healthy exercise regime for the whole body. It can be a trans formative tool inviting in a blissful lifestyle if practiced correctly with mindfulness. It is a brilliant way to extend your personal growth, maintain balance in mind, body and spirit, balance the hormones, reduce weight, advance concentration and memory, emotional stability, develop physical & spiritual abilities, promote inner peace and happiness.

DANCE is a creative form of expression emanating from the spirit, a true dancer craves the desire to set itself free with sensual and ecstatic movement. It is natural to want to feel this beautiful connection to our bodies and releases endorphins as well as freeing stress from our mind. In dance we are allowing the creative flow of femininity to over power us and the over active mind to quieten.

Doing these two practices together is a wonderful combination that keeps the body fit, supple, toned and calmed.
